Bavar ian Gr i l l has been voted the best German restaurant in Amer ica on mul t ip le occas ions .  I t has a lso rece ived numerous other awards s ince i ts open ing in 1993 .  The restaurant features an extens ive beer and wine menu in add i t ion to i t s German cu is ine .  A l though German food has a reputat ion for be ing meat heavy , a t Bavar ian Gr i l l you ’ l l f ind a vegetar ian menu as wel l as a g luten-f ree menu .

Pr ime Meats opened in 2009 .  The restaurant focuses on serv ing farm to table a lp ine insp i red fare .  Whi le the menu doesn ’ t feature an extens ive beer l i s t l i ke most other German restaurants , i t does feature a lo t of w ine .  One of the best i tems on the menu is the house-made sausage .  I f you have t rouble p ick ing a sausage you can make th ings eas ier by order ing the sausage tast ing board .

Suppenküche is located in San Franc isco ’s Hayes Val ley ne ighborhood, not fa r f rom the C iv ic Center .  Make sure you ar r ive ear ly because the restaurant f i l l s up qu ick ly .On the menu, you ’ l l f ind imported beers f rom Germany , Belg ium, and Aust r ia .  I f you rea l ly want a cha l lenge , order one of the beers that a re served in a g lass boot !  The d inner menu changes of ten , yet you ’ l l a lways f ind tasty t rad i t iona l German fare inc lud ing pretze ls and sauerkraut .
