What is MulledWine?

Mulled wine is red wine mixed with

mulling spices (and other, various

ingredients), and served hot or warm.

Background

Mulled wine has European roots. 2nd

century Romans used the beverage

stay warm and defend their bodies

against cold weather.

Contemporary Interest

Mulled wine is not as popular in

America, but a younger, hipper

crowd's embrace of the beverage is

making it more widely known in the

states as the something to enjoy in

cocktail bars or during the holidays.

Making it at Home

The beverage is rather simple to

make at home, which is part of why

it's becoming more common. In this

presentation, I've included some of

my favorite recipes from online.
