In the week ending 19th January 2018, AcuComm added or updated 41 projects to

our database. These have a combined estimated value of US$3,147 million. There

were 19 completely new projects this week, and 22 updates.

This brings the total number of active projects in the AcuComm database to 4,923.

They have an estimated value of US$344.8 million, or US$70 million on average.

The United Kingdom was the leading country in the past week in terms of project

value, accounting for US$1,703 million. This was equal to 54.1% of the total for the

week.

The leading feedstock this week was Wood, which accounted for seven projects and an estimated US$1,653

million. This is equal to 52.5% of the total value this week.

In terms of estimated capacity, the leading feedstock was MSW, which amounted to an annualised

3,675,826 tonnes or 42.0% of the total. Wood was the leading feedstock for power generation this week,

amounting to an estimated 1,157 MW or 84.3% of the total.

The leading facility type in the past week was incineration (with energy recovery). This

accounted for 11 projects, with a total estimated value of US$1,958 million. This was equal to

62.2% of the total.

In terms of estimated capacity, the leading facility type was landfill, which amounted to an

annualised 3,640,390 tonnes or 41.6% of the total. Incineration (with energy recovery) was the

leading facility type in terms of anticipated power output. This amounted to 1,279 MW, equal to

93.2% of the total.
