What to See at King Richard’s Renaissance Faire

McFate has served as Minerva chair with the Center for Naval Warfare Studies Strategic Research Department for the last six years. In her spare time in the fall, Dr. Montgomery McFate enjoys spending time at the Renaissance Faire.

One of the most prominent Renaissance fairs in New England, King Richard’s Faire is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. Running through October 23, 2016, the weekend event will showcase a wide array of thrilling shows and entertaining activities spread across 80 acres of land.

spread across eight different stages. From battling knights to daring fire eaters, these events run throughout the day so visitors will always have something to amuse them. In between shows, guests can practice their skills at the Gaming Glen or visit one of the many artisans selling their best medieval fares. Among these offerings will be handmade items such as chain mail, boots, and wooden flutes. Guests will also have the opportunity to explore their historic timelines or gaze into their futures with tarot readings.
