Print screens and small evaluations after my collection of results on peoples opinions
of what should be within a Hip-Hop/RnB/Rap magazine.
Mostly male persons chose to do this
survey suggesting that the hip-hop/ rap/
R&B genre of the music magazine appeals
mostly to this gender and
crowd, indicating females have less
interest in this genre of magazine.
This question shows the ages of
participants of the survey. Most
respondents fall in the 11-15 age
category whilst none fall into the 10 and
under one. This is helpful as it allows me
to know what age group to target and
how things will appeal to them when
completing the magazine.
This survey revealed that the most popular colour scheme chosen is in fact Red and Black for this genre of magazine. Black and yellow, as well as Black, white, red and grey were also popular choices that show more variety within the magazine than a simple two colour scheme; which I will take into consideration when designing my magazine.

This question shows that the majority of
participants at 45.45% believe the double
page spread article in a hip-hop/ R&B/
Rap magazine should be about an
upcoming, rising artist within this genre
of music industry.
As I want to include a mixture of content within the magazines contents pages as an insight as to what will be within the magazine, here I allowed the participant to include more than one response as there will have to be different components of the contents page. Latest news and new artists were the two most popular responses followed by gossip, which I believe will all feature within the magazine.
The most popular response was to
feature a well established artist rather
than an upcoming artist or a comeback
band. This goes well with my other
responses in previous questions as
respondents would like an upcoming
artist to feature on the double page
spread and this gives variety.
Most people opted to pay the lower price
of 3-4 pounds for the magazine however
it is likely that when completing surveys
like this, respondents often opt for the
cheaper option in a bid to save money.
However in correlation to the previous
questions results of the magazines age
category, this seems like an affordable
price.
Here I gave a variety of names as options
for the title of a hip-hop/ R&B/ Rap
magazine. The title that was seen as the
most popular is ‘Base’ which is the one I
will go on to use in my final magazine. It
received a total of 7/22 votes, totalling
to a 31.82% win.
Most readers would like to see the main
artist represented in casual, designer
clothing which I will definitely portray
when taking photographs for my
magazine.
The font style that was voted as the most
preferred to be seen was graffiti so I will
ensure that this font is used within my
magazine, making sure that I try to
incorporate it and possibly use it for the
mast head.
