Question 3• This question was used to find

out how often my target audience would like to read my magazine. However, it showed that they only bought them ‘every so often’ so I would need to find out further information (by interviewing) about what grabs their attention and makes them buy magazines from time to time to make sure that my magazine would be purchased and appealing to them.

Question 4• I used this question to find out

which type of dance music my target audience were most interested in. It was clear that the majority preferred house music however a significant amount also liked disco which means I will aim to use house music artists and a house music style but consider disco music whilst I’m creating it.

Question 5• I used this question to give me an

indication of which artist to focus on for my magazine. The majority suggested Martin Garrix, however Disclosure, Calvin Harris, Avicii, Major Lazer, Tiesto and David Guetta were also popular. These artists all have a similarity in the way that they are all male, very popular DJ’s with many chart hits. This means the artist I focus on will share these same traits.

Question 6• For this question I got a

variety of answers as I left an open comment box for suggestions. I asked this in order to get an idea of what colours and colour schemes I should include in my magazine to appeal to my reader and grab their attention to make it stand out from other magazines.

Question 6 (continued)

• I put all colour suggestions from each answer into a graph to show which colours were the most preffered. The majority suggested blue but purple was also quite popular. Also many of my target audience suggested bright and bold which means when I create my magazine I will try and incorporate these main colours and make it as bright and bold as possible.

Question 7• I used this question to see

which type of article my target audience would prefer to read to influence what I put on my double page spread. It was apparent that my audience would prefer to read an interview with an artist rather than a review and therefore in my magazine I will use an interview to appeal to the majority of my audience.

Question 8• This question was used to find

out how much my target audience were willing to pay for a magazine in order to decide what price to put it as. Question 10• I used this question to discover

what type of content y target audience would like to read about and what themes to include in my magazine. I used a comment box so that their answers were open to anything they consider relevant to dance music so they weren’t given options to choose from. I believe this worked well as it gave me an actual insight into what they associate with dance music.

Question 10 (continued)• I added commonly used words

from the response section to see what words were the most popular and decide what themes to run through my magazine and what my content should be focused on. The most popular words were ‘dance’ and ‘party’ which suggests to me that the images and content I use should be influenced by dancing or partying.
