The majority of responses were split between relaxed slow pace and fast energetic; I am happy with these results as my music video will be split between the two styles which should satisfy 90% of the audience. The next question on my survey was focused on locations for filming. The question read; on a scale of 1-5 which of these settings interest you the most? 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. College and house were the two favourite locations which I did not expect as they are places that the demographic group spend a lot of their time although they may have chosen these as they are familiar with the settings. The majority of my music will be filmed inside a house which suits the demographic but I didn’t plan to film any of my music video inside college; after receiving these results I will try to add some footage inside college to the video. Primary Research Analysis

For my primary research I created a survey to find out what my demographic audience would like to see in a music video from my selected genre. I used social media as well as asking people from college to complete the survey which meant that the responses I got were from the targeted age range that my music video is aimed at. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QCBLDYW

The first question on my survey was; what style of house music videos entertains you the most? The majority of responses were split between relaxed slow pace and fast energetic; I am happy with these results as my music video will be split between the two styles which should satisfy 90% of the audience.

The next question on my survey was focused on locations for filming. The question read; on a scale of 1-5 which of these settings interest you the most? 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. College and house were the two favourite locations which I did not expect as they are places that the demographic group spend a lot of their

time although they may have chosen these as they are familiar with the settings. The majority of my music will be filmed inside a house which suits the demographic but I didn’t plan to film any of my music video inside college; after receiving these results I will try to add some footage inside college to the video.

Which of these would you like to see in a music video? Was my next question with the possible answers being unexpected items or familiar props. Almost 75% of the respondents chose unexpected items; this is good for my music video as I planned to include unconventional props along with some product branding with electrical equipment and the characters clothing.

These are the results from when I asked the respondents to select the brands they use or are familiar with. I will be including some of these brands in my music video although they will be the least chosen brands as in the previous question respondents said they would prefer to see unexpected

items.

I asked the respondents if they enjoyed seeing dancing in music videos. 90% of them said yes whilst 10% was unsure but nobody said they do not enjoy the dancing. Because of these results I am going to include much more dancing in my music video. I plan to find a particular unconventional dance style and show different people doing the dance in different locations.

The final question in my survey was; are there any visual aspects that you believe would make a good music video? I believe this question gives me the most important information of them all as editing techniques can determine how good the music video will look. Strobe lights and filter effects received the most votes so I will be sure to include

these.

The respondents gave me valuable feedback which I will evaluate and use to help me appeal to the correct demographic audience with my music video. A lot of the information gathered supports my proposal so there are not many changes I need to make to my music video plan.
