It appears that my target audience buy more magazines weekly than monthly, this is usually because the monthly magazines cost more and those who lie within the age range of my target audience aren’t willing to part with £3 plus for a magazine.

When I asked this question to the people willing to answer my questionnaire, they often stated that they didn’t think that playing guitar or singing counts as “producing music” to them it is only a hobby or, in some respects, a job e.g. a member of a band.

QUESTION 3)How much would you be willing to spend on a music magazine?a) £1 - £2b) £2.99c) £3.99d) £4.50In question 1, I noted that few members of my target audience purchased monthly magazines, as they often cost more. To back up this thought, these results should hopefully show which price is more pleasing to my target audience.

As one of the options allowed the answerers to create their own, personal answer, I was worried how I would display a chart or graph.
Reviews and interviews received 4 votes each while Gig Guides received one, the remaining option (Please display answer - ) was “Behind the scenes” this article in a music magazine allowed the audience to see back stage of a gig, photo shoot etc. of an artist or band.

This question is very important as it decides whether I have a cross-genr’ed magazine e.g. music and lifestyle or I have one solid music magazine.

I was surprised by the number of people, in my target audience, who buy CD’s. Statistically, CD sales are on the low as the internet has been introduced (internet 2.0 has heavily affected the music industry.) I was also surprised by how many people download from iTunes, as I expected more people to illegally download due to the internet.

As I plan to mainly focus on singer/song writer artists, this question would basically spell out whether my audience would be interested in those artists.

An interesting point was raised by one of the audience members, stating that there are very good artists in the industry that, as talented as they are, don’t write their own songs. Because of this, I plan on broadening the artists involved in the magazine.

This question mainly dictated whether I have more solo artists or more bands present in my magazines contents page, however as C) Both was the most answered I can easily place both bands and solo artists into my contents page without worrying about my audience losing interest.

Here, I have asked my target audience how often they would be willing to buy a music magazine; this tells me the loyalty of the audience member to the magazine and how often my magazine would be published.
