What gender was I aiming to represent?

I was aiming to represent both males and females, as my magazine is about clubbing and this is something both genders like to do. The articles I have included are aimed at both genders as its about finding clubs and events. However, I do think it represents females more than males, as the all the pictures included are of a female, and two of the articles listed are about girls – ‘London’s best female DJ’ and ‘Girl DJ’s around at the moment’.

The colours represent both males and females as I have chosen neutral colours – yellow, orange and grey.

The fonts I have used are quite neutral too, there not girly, they are plain and simple.

What age group was I aiming to represent?

I was aiming to represent teenagers/young adults aged 16 to 30, as this is the age when most people tend to go out top nightclubs. I found this easy, as being a teenager I know what they like.

The articles I included represent teenagers, as they teenagers want to know where all the best clubs are and want to keep up to date with new songs.

I think the front cover represents teenagers, as it has a dark background with bright orange - it’s not a dull front cover with lots of white space. The colours are loud and aren’t very subtle.

What musical interest was I aiming to represent?

The musical interest I was aiming to represent was dance music, or any music played at clubs by DJs.

I represent this by using the idea of headphones through out my magazine – twice on the front cover and on the contents page. Headphones are used by DJs when they are performing in a club.

Another way I think it represents club music is by using the glow around my model on the front cover. This represents lights, like the ones used in clubs.
