In what ways does your media product use develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Page 5: Danielle eagell evaluation powerpoint

Follows conventions-Boy meets Girl is a conventional story line for a typical Romantic Comedy or Romantic Drama

The wedding singer (1998) When Harry met Sally (1989)

Going the Distance (2010) 500 days of Summer (2009)

Page 6: Danielle eagell evaluation powerpoint

Romantic, slow music is mostly conventional in romantic dramas, I have put it in my opening because it is unconventional and by doing

that I am challenging the conventions of a romantic comedy

Page 7: Danielle eagell evaluation powerpoint

It is conventional in romantic dramas and romantic comedies for an obstacle to be placed in the way of the

two main characters, as I have done in my opening sequence with the introduction of the third character.

Page 8: Danielle eagell evaluation powerpoint

In another romantic comedy “Going the Distance” like all romantic comedies there is an

obstacle in the way

Page 9: Danielle eagell evaluation powerpoint

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Page 10: Danielle eagell evaluation powerpoint

My media product represents…

• Different social groups-male and female• Teenagers, average teens• Different dress code• More down to earth clothing and characters

Page 11: Danielle eagell evaluation powerpoint

These are average teens and what they wear, I tried to make my

teens dress similarly I have tried to make my characters look like normal average teenagers

through the costume choices.

Page 12: Danielle eagell evaluation powerpoint

These are two of my characters, they are both young representing average teenagers

Casual clothing which average teens wear

Average everyday clothing which average teens wear

Page 13: Danielle eagell evaluation powerpoint

This is how the actors in the romantic comedy “Easy A” dressed, The main character as you can see is dressed not how most people dress to attend school

Very glamorous clothing, not very everyday, average school girl look

• The same distributors who distributed Closer as they seem to distribute the same type of films which is Columbia Pictures

Page 16: Danielle eagell evaluation powerpoint

The same distributors tend to distribute similar types of genres, these are both romantic comedies and are both

distributed by Warner Bros.
