ADD ON AUTO Research Process

AOA is an Online Accessories Store that helps you easily sell accessories online. AOA includes a Visual Configurator to provide your customers the instant visual confirmation they need while selecting accessories. AOA’s Visual Configurator enables your customers to virtually add or remove accessories and instantly view them on their vehicle of choice.

• Before we start the production for any model we need to check the model in the OEM website understand what it looks like (car, SUV or Truck) kind of parts would fit to the model and very important check the Trim document in Share point and the OEM website. • Update the your Name and Date in the Status column for the parts that your updating. • If the document is getting updated for the second time we need to mark the part in yellow and updated the Status column. • Mention the Trim level in the note column in GD for each and every part you update.

Page 2: AOA Research process

• Part has incomplete information like cost and images should be marked in purple in GD. • Parts without cost information should not be updated in Dev server or not to be attached to vehicle. • Parts without image can be updated and attached to vehicle. • For any reason if we have to make changes for a Thumbnail in GD or Dev server for any part which is already designed should be informed to me via email only and the reason to change the thumbnail. This is very important and if I find anyone changed the Thumbnail without informing me will be in serious trouble. • Any issues that designers come up asking to make the corrections in GD or Dev server should be addressed immediately and understand what was the issue and make sure the same mistakes are not repeated. • Updating GD needs to be clear (just don’t update parts with different colors were ever you like) all the parts marked in Red should be at last row at bottom of the page. • If we are marking the part in Red in GD, We need to mention the reason why and Name who has marked. • Format for all the Sections should be same (Wheels, Interior, Exterior & Factory OEM parts). • We need to mention the Cost, Installation cost, Labor time & MSRP we no more update the retail in GD. • Whatever information in GD should be the same matching to Dev server part name, part size, SKU number, Description & pricing. • All the team members need to coordinate with each other and work as Team. We may have the scenarios as have to work on important task and we all have to work together and help each other. • I want you all to work on each and every section and know the process better. All us need to know about the different section we have in GD and should have knowledge of what other team members are working. So some time we can help each other to complete the task.

IR-Process Guidelines on Exterior (Grilles, Step Bars & Grille Guards) Accessories General IR-Process guidelines to follow before updating any parts for any model

• Check AOA STATUS file provided in GD to confirm is that New, Refreshed or Carry Over model…?

o If Carry Over: All the parts from previous year can be used for next year. o If Refreshed: Check the Trim level document to find out what has been changed & what has not changed for any model. o If New: Everything has to be updated new onto GD, completely new parts have to be researched & updated onto GD.

• Go to these below websites to know more on the model changes for any particular year

o Go to http://www.edmunds.com/ o Select Car Reviews->Model Reviews->Browse by make->Browse by model->what’s new for (Read this paragraph). o Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page o Enter Make & Model name in the search tab on the left side of the main page, hit enter. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for this text (North American market, 1980s–present), once you locate this text click on show button shown on the right side of that text. You will find all the models with timelines. Click on any model on the timeline sheet that will lead you to that model review page, Read it completely and make a note somewhere of what is changed and what is not changed.

• Go to AOA backend path http://10.125.2.13/admin/product_main.asp o Click on Vehicles tab on the top of the page Select Brand->Year->Vehicle hit search tab on the page. In the next page Select the tab called TRIM LEVELS; you will see current trims present for a particular model. Open all the trim images in a separate browser window tab. Then click on Exterior (Front).swf image in all the trims opened in all the tabs. Compare all the trims images and make a note of what change is being made in any trim. Once you done with these do not save anything in those pages, just close them all without saving anything.

Page 14: AOA Research process

• Go to these vendor sites and browse through Make->Model->Year and pull the data for the model you are working on. Collect the data and update on to these tabs provided in Google doc file that is shared with you.

Category Status Size Company OEM Product Name Cost MSRP Installation SKU Description Notes Website Weblink

o Category: This will already be present in the sheet given to you. No need to change this field. o Status: Use this column to update the information like when was the part updated…? Who updated it…? And name of the person updated in GD. o Size: Use this column to update the size mentioned for any product in their website. o Company: Put the vendor name in this column. Make sure there are no empty spaces at the end of the part name. o OEM: Leave blank if it is a Non-OEM part and update “Y” in the column if it is an OEM part. o Product name: Product name should not exceed 30 characters in length. It should have finish mentioned at the end of it. It should not have all the letters in CAPS. Every word of product name should start with capital letter (Example: Speed Grille Inserts-Chrome). Should not contain any special characters. Make sure there are no empty spaces at the end of the part name. o Cost & MSRP: These two fields are compulsory and should be accurate to add the part details into the backend system. See the vendor’s sheet updated in FTP server (\\10.125.2.13\vendors\) to locate the Cost & MSRP (If only Jobber price is given in the vendor sheet then it will become MSRP. Use the formula Cost=MSRP-25% to calculate the Cost). If the pricing sheet is not updated in the FTP server, check in the vendor site for pricing(If the vendor gives you the pricing details, than that pricing on the vendor site will become MSRP, Use the formula Cost=MSRP(Price on the Vendor site)-25% to calculate Cost). If you don’t find the pricing in either of these two places, then look in the third party website (It is highly recommended to approach the Team Lead to know what third party website you can refer to take the pricing). The price what you find in the third party website will always be a Retail Price, So you have to use these to formulae to calculate Cost & MSRP respectively. Cost=Price on internet-15% MSRP=Cost+40% o Installation: This includes Installation + Paint cost. For grilles it will be $140.

Pricing shown in Split = $100 (Installation Cost) + $40 (Paint Cost) o SKU: This field should not exceed 20 characters in length. This must be updated from the vendor site only; it should never be taken from third party websites. There should not be any empty spaces in the SKU. All empty spaces should be replaced by symbol “-“ hyphen in that SKU (Example: If you find this type of SKU “5111 82 410” in the vendor site or in sheet given in FTP server, such SKU’s should be updated by this way “5111-82-410”. If there is a possibility that you will find the SKU exceeding more than 20 char in length (This happens especially when you combine the SKU’s of both upper & lower grille) then take just the upper part SKU and attach “-kit” at the end (Example:

Page 15: AOA Research process

CHE-1507-BAO-kit), when you do this kit make sure the text in the Description says “Grille Kit includes Upper so and so piece grille and Lower so and so piece grille (put the Lower grille SKU here in the bracket)”. Make sure there are no empty spaces at the end of the SKU. o If there is a situation where you don’t find the SKU in the vendor site then don’t update those part details in GD. o Description: This field should be precise, meaningful and not to exceed 500 characters in length. Never mention model name in this field, instead you can mention just the name of the Make. If there is a kit – mention what that kit includes and put the pricing according to it. Description text must say whether the grille is just Upper grille OR includes both Upper and Lower Grille. Never list just the Lower grille part. Description should be mentioned with the grille finish and also trim level info, if given in the vendor site. For Example: Chevrolet, BG Series Billet Bolt over Grille, Polished Aluminum finish. Grille Kit includes Upper 2 piece grille and Lower 2 piece grille (CHE-1508-BAO). This grille will not fit Chevy hybrid model, Lower Grille install over the tow hooks. Tow hook grilles will not fit on vehicles with Z-71 off road package. o Notes: Use this field to update Trim level info, is it just Upper…? Is it Upper & Lower, Color options if given in vendor site, Year – Is the part fits both the year OR just the current year model. And if any other info that ease the designer task. o Website: Use this field to update manufacturer website link from where you update the part details. Do not just mention the home page link; put the complete website link that links you to the path from where the part is updated. For Example: http://www.putco.com/ this is wrong way of updating it. http://www.putco.com/product/Punch_Grille/part/84158 This is correct way to update the Weblink. o Weblink: Use this field to put the image link. Image links can be updated either from vendor site or from third party website.

Cost=Price on internet-15% MSRP=Cost+40% o Installation: This includes Installation cost of the part updated. For Grille Guards & Bull Bars it will be $100. o SKU: This field should not exceed 20 characters in length. Make sure there are no empty spaces at the end of the SKU.

o If there is a situation where you don’t find the SKU in the vendor site then don’t update those part details in GD. o Description: This field should be mentioned only with Finish of the product, part name if required. Should not mention Make & Model name in this field. For Example: Polished Stainless Steel Finish. o Notes: Use this field to update Trim level info, Color options if given in vendor site, Year – Is the part fits both the year OR just the current year model. And if any other info that ease the designer task. o Website: Use this field to update manufacturer website link from where you update the part details. Do not just mention the home page link; put the complete website link that links you to the path from where the part is updated. For Example: http://www.steelcraftautomotive.com/ this is wrong way of updating it. http://ariesautomotive.com/applications/grill-brush-guard.html This is correct way to update the Weblink. o Weblink: Use this field to put the image link. Image links can be updated either from vendor site or from third party website.

• If you do not get the complete details for any part, all those parts should be marked in purple color in GD with mentioning the STATUS column why it is marked in purple color and also the name of worker.

Steps to follow when you are asked to Double Check/Cross Check/Cleanup the Data • Check the category whether it is put in the right category or not in the backend. If you find any part placed in the wrong category, put it back into right category and while changing the category make sure you re-upload the image before saving it in the backend. • Check whether the part updated earlier is still has the same SKU number, Cost, MSRP, Image & other info in the vendor site, if anything is changed make the correction both in GD & backend (It is recommended to bring it to the notice of TL before making any such modifications in the backend) make sure all the changes made to a part are reflected even in frontend as well, and put in the status column what changes you have done for that particular product and also inform the designer if you change the image, because they might have to do the same changes for the design as well. • If any part you find it updated wrong (This could be wrong year, wrong SKU, Not applicable to that vehicle body style, etc.), mark it in RED color and detach it from the vehicle to which it is attached. • Don’t delete any parts from the system. • Check to see whether the correct trims are selected in the backend for a part which is trim specific. • For body kits; image, SKU or part name, if you change anyone of these then the design for that kit will be automatically deselected. So what you need to do is, after saving go back to the same body kit and select FB, RB & SS once again and save it.

• Check the description; make sure it is updated according to the guideline mentioned above and update the same into backend as well. • If you find any new parts add them and mark them in yellow and put the comment. This should include when was the part updated…? Who updated it…? And name of the person updated in GD. • Make sure you do this for each and every model which shared with you for any particular Make assigned to you.

Research Process for Factory OEM parts

• Check the OEM website if all the required information (SKU Number, Cost, MSRP, Image and Description) is available. • If all the required information is available, then start updating the parts model wise in the appropriate sections. • If any one of the information (SKU Number, Cost, MSRP, and Image) is not found on the website, an email is sent to Kevin asking for further assistance. • Kevin sends an alternative website with all information or sends the pricing sheet with all the required information. • After receiving the information from Kevin, start updating the parts. • Check for the trim levels available in the back-end and look for those trims in the website and mention the trim levels in the Notes column for each and every part. (This was not done previously. However, trims levels are checked now). • If same part is found more than once on the website with different SKU and colors; the part is updated only once with the colors mentioned in the description and with (-Color) to the SKU. • After updating the parts, re-check it to see if anything is missed out and update the Name and Date in the Status column. • Even after getting all the information from Kevin, there will be few parts without images, cost, MSRP. Such parts will be marked in purple color and mentioned it in the notes column. • Once the QC report is received, do the QC corrections in GD. • After QC corrections, start updating the parts on the Back-end (DEV Server). • Parts without images will be updated on the back-end but the parts without the cost and MSRP will not be updated on the back-end. • After 2 or 3 months, the OEM website is re-checked to see if the website is updated with the new parts and update the new parts on GD as mentioned above, mark it in Yellow color with Name and Date on the Status column. • As per the dealer request we have to update the parts in Dev server & GD or only the pricing will be changed in the DEV Server on priority basis and then on GD.
