They use attractive models because it makes the public feel like they can become just like them by using the product they are using.

Celebrities are used because the public and society look up to them because they are rich and we want their lifestyles.

Using an image like this creates a lounging to escape to that place. Especially when you look out your window and it’s raining and the weather is miserable.

Independence/Individuality

Intelligence

Lifestyle

The use of independence encourages you to be yourself and feel like you are being individual but in fact you are using the same product as loads of other people are using.

This affects the user by becoming one of their everyday tools that they use to help them in life.

The use of this makes the user of the product feel more intelligent, and that they seem intelligent to other members of the public by using this product.

Nurture

Peer Approval

Rebel

Nature has a big impact on the public because the use of animals and wildlife has an effect on people to associate nature with things that are good.

This put you under pressure to do what your friends do, for example the carling adverts where whatever people do it’s not quite carling. This shows that peers have a big impact on advertising because the public feel the need to prove themselves to their peers.

Advertising like this makes people want to act out in a way that inspires the other product users. Also using this product make people think they are like the rebellious people in the advert but in fact it does nothing like that.

Rhetorical Question

Scientific / Statistical Claim

Unfinished Comparison / Claim

The rhetorical question is a big part of advertising because it asks the viewer a question, but the viewer cannot answer because the answer is in the question.

The public go nuts for statistics and numbers because they what the best results for the cheapest price.

This makes you believe that they are the best company without even mentioning their business or their product.
