GenreThe genre of my adaptation of Me

Before You which is a love story with a bit of heartache.

Me Before You is originally a book written by JoJo Moyes but I’m going to create my own opening sequence.

I’m not following the full opening sequence of the book because I feel the way I’m going to create the opening sequence will allow the audience to gain that hook and suspense.

I will still keep the same concept of the book such as Lou meeting Patrick but I’m going to introduce them in a different way.

My character will be walking up the same road everyday but each day she will have a different pair of shoes on and there will be a subheading saying the day of the week it is.

on Monday and Tuesday all we’ll hear is the same noise of the motor bike.

I will then reverse the camera after seeing the feet walk to see the wheel of the motorbike on Wednesday

but On the Thursday I will do the feet shot but then there will be no noise because I will then do an over the shoulder shot of Lou my character looking at the man on the motorbike and then reverse to the man on the

motorbikes view and then a shot where we can see them both looking at each other in slow motion. After all this It will then become black and voice over will be heard by the man on the motorbike saying ‘this was the day that changed my life for the bad but also for the good, it was the best day of my life.’

I haven’t decided on all the camera shots yet as I will take many and then chose which works best.

Synopsis

During Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday there will always be the same sound of the motorbike approaching Lou. Although at the beginning during the titles and maybe through some of the clips there will be a soft a gentile music playing.

With the voice over at the end the man will say his line in a slow pace with a low tone.

Location:My location is on a busy street. I can always access a busy street and I don’t have to ask for permission to use any sights as its all a public area.

This isn’t the road I will be using but it’s a similar looking road but it will be busier with a motorbike going past.

Equipment:To make this film I’m going to need

a tripod, camera and maybe a microphone depending on how I record the voice overs. My props will be a motorbike or moped to

record the beginning.Props:

Motorbike or Moped

Research on other similar films: The Vow

A car accident puts Paige in a coma, and when she wakes up with severe memory loss, her husband Leo works to win her

heart again.

In my adaptation of the book Me Before You Patrick who was a well active immobile man who then had a motorbike accident just like the star in The Vow who has a car accident and then love begins from both situations.

Safe Haven:Even though this film doesn’t involve a car

accident it still has the same story line of boy meets girl

in unfortunate circumstances.

Both these films have been big success and attracted many people to the cinema to watch the romance, they have also been bought on DVD by the public. The target audience I would aim this at would be females of many ages ranging from 12 upwards because there is no age limit on a good romantic film.
