Depending upon the percentage of

carbon, four grades of steel are –

Soft, Mild or Low 0.05-0.15%

Medium carbon steel 0.15-0.30%

Medium high carbon steel 0.30-0.60%

High carbon steel 0.60-1.50%

The Ultimate Strength

of both Grade 60 &

Grade 40 Deformed

bar is minimum

90,000 PSI & 70,000

PSI respectively

Tor Steel has higher

construction cost.

By twisting Tor-Steel

gains Yield Strength of

Grade 60, but the

Ultimate Strength

remains at 70,000 PSI,

which is only equal to

Grade 40
