Design I Assignment No. 1 Data for all problems: Live load = 300 Kg/m 2 Covering Materials : 7cm of sand, 3cm of tiles, Ceiling = 60 Kg/m 2 Assume any data, not given, you may need No.1: A simply supported reinforced concrete one way solid slab of dimensions 4.0m x 9.0m and thickness 14cm (Figure 1). It is required to draw the bending moment and shear force diagrams of the floor slab/meter width (section A-A). No.2: A reinforced concrete simply supported beam of span L = 5.0m and has a rectangular cross section of dimensions 25cm x 60cm. The beam supports a reinforced concrete slab as shown in Figure 2. It is required to draw the bending moment and the shear force diagrams of the beam. No.3: A reinforced concrete cantilever retaining wall of length L = 10m, height H = 4.0m and thickness t = 30cm (figure 3). The wall retains an earth pressure of unit weight = 1.5 t/m 3 , a surface surcharge q = 2.5t/m 2 and subjected to an axial load p = 100t/m at the top of the wall. It is required to draw the internal actions (N.F.D, S.F.D and B.M.D) /meter length of the wall.

Data for all problems:

Live load = 300 Kg/m2

Covering Materials : 7cm of sand, 3cm of tiles, Ceiling = 60 Kg/m2

Assume any data, not given, you may need

No.1: A simply supported reinforced concrete one way solid slab of dimensions 4.0m x 9.0m and thickness 14cm (Figure 1).It is required to draw the bending moment and shear force diagrams of the floor slab/meter width (section A-A).

No.2: A reinforced concrete simply supported beam of span L = 5.0m and has a rectangular cross section of dimensions 25cm x 60cm. The beam supports a reinforced concrete slab as shown in Figure 2.It is required to draw the bending moment and the shear force diagrams of the beam.

No.3: A reinforced concrete cantilever retaining wall of length L = 10m, height H = 4.0m and thickness t = 30cm (figure 3). The wall retains an earth pressure of unit weight = 1.5 t/m3, a surface surcharge q = 2.5t/m2 and subjected to an axial load p = 100t/m at the top of the wall.

It is required to draw the internal actions (N.F.D, S.F.D and B.M.D) /meter length of the wall.
