What is a wiki???

• A website that allows visitors to add, remove, edit and change content.

• It also allows for linking among any number of pages and websites.

• It is easy to use and an effective tool for collaborative authoring.

Fill In

• Username: first name last initial

• EX. Marlap

• Password: write it down!!!!

• Email: one that works!

• Make a Wiki? NO

your username will be how the teacher credits you for your work.

Requesting Permission

• After you have Joined.

• You MUST Request Permission to join the multimediamadness wikispace.

• If you do not see this page, you should type in http://multimediamadness.wikispaces.com into your browser again.

*Note- It may take a couple minutes for me to approve you. You can’t go on until you are approved!!

Find your group page

• Each group has a link on the left side of the page. Once your membership has been accepted, click on your group name to redirect to your group’s page.

• INSERTING TEXT– Click on <Edit this page>– ONLY ONE PERSON can edit at a time. You

may want to cut and paste your work from MS Word and save it right away.

INSERTING LINKSIf you have a website that you want to add to your

page…..– Click on <Edit this page>.– Highlight the link you wish to add from your source.– Click on the link button – Choose external link– Paste the weblink from another source.– Click ADD Link

Editing your page.• EMBEDDING WIDGETS• What is a Web Widget ?• A web widget is a mini-web application you can put

in your web page, blog or social profile that can quickly and easily provide your visitors with, user specific information , extra functionality, and even a bit of fun and games.

• A widget is available in a ready-to-use formats and are visually attractive and customizable by the user. It takes the form of pictures, graphs, statistics, summary, or just numbers.

• Its a snippet of HTML code which is available from the website which hosts the widget. you can "copy" that code and "embed" in your web page.
