Do your students know WHERE their stuff comes from? What is the WHERE Challenge? The WHERE Challenge is a national contest endorsed by the Canadian Earth sciences community that asks Canadian students ages 9 to 14 to uncover answers to these questions: What on Earth is in your stuff? WHERE on Earth does it come from? W.H.E.R.E is an acronym for the places and fields of study that geoscientists work: - Water - Hazards - Energy - Resources - Environment Back for its seventh year, the WHERE Challenge launched September 15, 2014 and closes March 11, 2015. Entries are accepted for individuals, a class/group, or school. All you have to do is encourage your students to use their imagination and discover the science around them. There are thousands of dollars in prizes to be won!

Include this national challenge in yourcurriculum and capture the creativity andimagination of your students!Students aged 9 to 14 are asked to answer thesequestions: What on Earth is in your stuff and WHERE onEarth does it come from? They can do this by telling astory about the non-renewable resources that make upan object and WHERE these resources come from.

Both individuals and classes can participate. Entries of allcreative types are welcome in both English and French,but all entries must be submitted in a digital form.

Over $10,000 in prizes available to be won.
