• Of the components of culture, symbolsand language are important to unearthing the cultural foundations of modern medical science—so that it can be redeemed by the Sons of Light.

1) Values: abstract ideas about the good, the right, the desirable e.g. core value integrity

2) Norms: social rules and guidelines; guide appropriate behavior for specific situations

a) Folkways: norms of little moral significance• dress code; table manners; timeliness

b) Mores: norms central to functioning of social life• bring serious retribution: thievery, adultery, alcohol

3) Customs are norms and expectations about the way people do things in a specific country

4) Traditions: e.g. Naming's, Weddings, History best man etc.


4) Symbols: anything that carries particular meaning recognized by people who share culture

―e.g. totems, Adinkra, obelisks, tribal marks & their significance

THE BREAD OF LIFE (ZOE) & WESTERN MEDICINE


THE BREAD FIRST—NOT WESTERN MEDICINE

• Mat 6:11 KJV Give us this day our daily bread.

• John 6:35 KJV And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

• Who is the Bread of LIFE?

• Jesus is the Bread and we must eat daily

• Thirst and Hunger has to do with spiritual realities


• Mat 15:26 KJV But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's BREAD, and to cast itto dogs.

• QUESTION: What is the bread God has made available for feeding His children?

• ANSWER: It is HEALING—for the body, mind, will, emotions, intellect etc.

• HEALING is the CHILDREN'S BREAD

• Kingdom culture dictates that our health is fundamentally based on partaking in Jesus (the BREAD of LIFE)


SELF ASSESSMENT

• DO you eat this BREAD of Zoë daily?

• What are the consequences of not partaking [taking part] of this BREAD?


•Modern medical science has SIGNS and SYMBOLS and OATHS i.e. LANGUAGE

• From these components of CULTURE, we can deduce the culture of modern medical science

• Let’s briefly examines some of the culture of western medicine


SYMBOLS

Rod of Asclepius: Serpent entwined rod wielded by the Greek god Asclepius, a deity associated with healing and medicine.

The deity is an evil spirit.

The staff = scepter

SYMBOLS

Caduceus: The staff of the god Hermes, with two snakes and wings, used as symbol of medicine.

Hermes is an evil spirit & so are the snakes.

The staff = evil scepter


LANGUAGE (OATH):

• Famous temple of Asclepius was at Epidaurus in north-eastern Peloponnese. Another famous healing temple (or asclepieion) was located on the island of Kos, where Hippocrates, the "father of medicine", may have begun his career. Other asclepieia were situated in Trikala, Gortys (in Arcadia), and Pergamum in Asia.

• HIPPOCRATIC OATH comes from this man’s name—supposed father of medicine

• The ORIGINAL HIPPOCRATIC OATH began with invocation "I swear by Apollo the Physician and by Asclepius and by Hygieia and Panacea and by all the gods ..."


• Medical help is OK but exists in the realm of the senses

• Diseases on the other hand have spiritual/demonic roots—so the best cure for them is spiritual—where demons exist

• Act 10:38 AMP How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him

• Those who were sick were harassed and oppressed by the devil. Who is the devil?


• Most illnesses have their roots or source in the power ofthe devil

• The purpose is the harassment and oppression of humanity

• Thus they should NOT be entertained for even a second

• No amount of medical explanation should make one accepting of illness as their fate

• E.g. Asthma, Aids, Cancer, Anxiety, Lunacy, Epilepsy, Alzheimer, etc. have medical explanations but have spiritual roots in the power of the devil


ETYMOLOGY OF DEVIL

devil (n.) Look up devil at Dictionary.com

Old English deofol "evil spirit, a devil, the devil, false god, diabolical person," from Late Latin diabolus (also the source of Italian diavolo, French diable, Spanish diablo; German Teufel is Old High German tiufal, from Latin via Gothic diabaulus).

…from diaballein "to slander, attack," literally "throw across," from dia- "across, through" + ballein "to throw" (see ballistics)

Demons throw sicknesses across


• There are ONLY 2 forces—GOOD & EVIL

• Jas 1:17 KJV Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

• If it ain’t good or perfect, it ain’t GOD

• If it ain’t from GOD, don’t accept it.

• Don’t receive from the daimón i.e. messengers and ministers of the devil


• Do not forget, in the 7 Pillars of the Kingdom doctrine, we learn that Messengers are part of a Kingdom

• When an evil kingdom send you its mailmen (messengers) with sicknesses, do not accept them

• 2000 years ago, it was believed that ALL diseases were from the devil and the primary healers were priests

• Today we explain diseases away because medicine teaches us how our bodies work & the primary healers are doctors—not priests

•Did GOD stop healing or change his Word?


• GOD is the same yesterday, today and forever. He never changed. Humanity did esp. in the way we view illness, its source(s) and its healing!

• Modern medical medicine should be appreciated BUT not more than the Bread of Life which in the Kingdom of GOD is given for our Healing


Sample healing instances in scripture:

• Gen 20:17 KJV So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.

• 2Ch 30:20 KJV And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

• Psa 107:20 KJV He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

• Hos 11:3 KJV I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.


• Mat 15:30 KJV And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:

• Luk 4:40 KJV Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healedthem.

• HEALING IS GOD’s WORK

• We must trust GOD and His Servants more than any other system of this world. Is 53…Whose report have you believed?


PHARMAKEIA


DEFINITION - PHARMAKEIA

Φαρμακει ́α [ pharmakeia ]

far-mak-i'-ah

From G5332; medication (“pharmacy”), that is, (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): - sorcery, witchcraft.

“Pharmakeia” literally means “drugs”, and appears five times in the New Testament: in Gal 5:20, Rev 9:21, 18:23, 21:8, and 22:15.

In each of these, its translated as sorcery or witchcraft


DEFINITION - PHARMAKEIA

• In each of the above five passages, “pharmakia”, or “drugs” is listed as a work of the flesh of man as opposed to the Spirit of God working in us

• The KJV Bible translators translated “pharmakia” as “witchcraft”, because almost no one but witches and sorcerers used drugs for curing in those days

• Drugs were most commonly used in pagan worship to hallucinate and to try to get in touch with evil spirits


• Rev. 21:8, God says that people who are continually characterized by drug use [pharmakeus] will have no part in the Kingdom of God.

• Western pharmaceutical drugs → Solve one problem and produces many other complications

• Children’s Bread → No side effects. Solves challenges once and for all

• Take your meds but do not see them as GOD’s primary provision for your HEALTH.


• JESUS the Bread of Life is GOD’s primary provision for your health
