Ocean

• An ocean is a body of saline water that composes a large part of a planet's hydrosphere. In the context of Earth, it also refers to major divisions of the planet's World Ocean, such as the Atlantic Ocean.

• The biggest body of water.

Sea

• A sea generally refers to a large body of salt water, but the term is used in other contexts as well. Most commonly, it means a large expanse of saline water connected with an ocean.

• Salt water form which is smaller than an ocean.

Example

Philippine Sea- a marginal sea east and north of the Philippines occupying an estimated surface area of 2 million surface area (sq. mi²) and 5 million (sq. km²) on the western part of the North Pacific Ocean.

SIBUYAN SEA- the smallest sea

in the Philippines that separates the Visayan group of islands from the North Philippine island in Luzon

Bay• A bay is a large body of water

connected to an ocean or sea formed by an inlet of land due to the surrounding land blocking some waves and often reducing winds . Bays also exist as an inlet in a lake or pond. A large bay may be called a gulf, a sea, a sound, or a bight.

• A body of water which is almost completely surrounded by land.

Manila Bay is anatural harbor which serves the Port of Manila (on Luzon), in the Philippines.The bay is considered to be one of the best natural harbors in Southeast Asia and one of the finest in the world.

Lake• A lake is a body of relatively

still fresh or salt water of considerable size, localized in a basin, that is surrounded by land apart from a river, stream, or other form of moving water that serves to feed or drain the lake.

• Body of water surrounded by land, it contains fresh water, it is good for fishing, boating and swimming.

River• A river is a natural

watercourse, usually freshwater, flowing towards an ocean, a lake, a sea, or another river. In a few cases, a river simply flows into the ground or dries up completely before reaching another body of water.

• Current of water that flow downward until it reaches the sea.

• The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is located about 50 kilometres (30 mi) north of the city centre of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. The national park is located in the Saint Paul Mountain Range on the northern coast of the island.

Spring

• A spring—also known as a rising or resurgence—is a component of the hydrosphere. Specifically, it is any natural situation where water flows to the surface of the earth from underground. When it rain in the mountains, water seeps in the ground and comes out at the side of the mountain as a spring

• Tangub Hot Spring: Camiguin-It is a volcanic hot spring not fully developed a little beneath sea level where a pool is formed by sea, stones and corals.

• Tiwi Hot Springs: Albay-A highly active thermal area, Tiwi has long been a popular place to "take the medicinal waters" and bathhouses abound. The waters are hottest in Naglagbong Lake, a boiling sulfur pool.

• A waterfall is a place where flowing water rapidly drops in elevation as it flows over a steep region or a cliff.

• Body of water that drops from a high place, found on hill and mountain.

Channel

• The physical confine of a river. Slough or ocean strait consisting of a bed and banks

Examples:• Babuyan channel

-is surrounded by island in the northern part of the Philippines.

Hilutangan Channel -a deep water channel that separates mactan island to olango island.

GULFS

• it is a large bay that is an arm of an ocean or a sea

• Large body of water, sometimes with narrow mouth that is almost completely surrounded by land

Pond• A pond is a body of standing

water, either natural or man-made, that is usually smaller than a lake.

• Body of water that is used as drinking places of carabaos and goats.

• Some ponds dry up during summer

Swamp• A swamp is a wetland with some

flooding of large areas of land by shallow bodies of water. A swamp generally has a large number of hammocks, or dry-land protrusions, covered by aquatic vegetation, or vegetation that tolerates periodical inundation.

Strait

• A narrow, navigable channel of water that connects two larger navigable bodies of water

• It most commonly refers to a channel water that lies between to land masses.
