Case Study A: Claire (PGCE subject: Science) Diploma: Engineering

Tues 3rd Feb University Training Day 1 Local authority 14-19 manager; input from 14-19 tutor at university; preparation for presentations

Monday 2nd March University Training Day 2 Engineering teacher on diploma framework, integrating PLTS and FS and lesson planning; C&M diploma teacher and viewing student work; SHD diploma teacher on assessment and diploma issues

Tuesday 10th march School Experience 1 Local FE College – to observe Engineering Diploma Level 2 students

Wednesday 11th March – School Experience 2 Local FE College – to contribute to Engineering lesson

Friday 1st May –University Training Day 3 Learner Voice; Awarding body presentation; Discussion of issues and challenges; prep time for presentations

Thursday 25th June – visit to employer Local engineering company – presentations from departmental heads and identification of skill sets for various roles; tour of workplace

Tuesday 10th Feb - School Experience 1 Local FE College – opportunity to see Hair and Beauty and Motor Vehicle Maintenance classes

Monday 2nd March University Training Day 2 Engineering teacher on diploma framework, integrating PLTS and FS and lesson planning; C&M diploma teacher and viewing student work; SHD diploma teacher on assessment and diploma issues

Monday 16th March – School Experience 2 Local Secondary School – observing SHD diploma students, working with them individually and talking to teachers about planning and preparation for the diploma

Friday 1st May - University Training Day 3 Learner Voice; Awarding body presentation; Discussion of issues and challenges; prep time for presentations
