WHAT IS UNIVERSAL DESIGN?

• Purpose is to design learning experiences that work among a wide spectrum of learners

• Allows for students to come to conclusions and learn in a multiple of ways. A way that works for the individual.

HOW TO IMPLEMENT UDL

• Use Hands on models and demonstrations

• Provide multiple examples

• Highlight critical features

• Provide multiple media and formats

• Support background context

• Provide opportunities to practice with support

• Offer flexible opportunities for demonstrating skill

• Offer choices of content or tools

• Offer adjustable levels of challenge

• Offer choices of learning contexts
