OUR TEAMCHELSIE - DIRECTOR

DYLAN - PRODUCER

DESTINEE - CAMERA OPERATOR

ASHLEY - STORY CREATOR/SOUND

In addition to our main roles we have taken on a variety of different responsibilities to ensure our promotional video was completed.

Such as Chelsie helping Ashley by writing the script and Ashley assisting Chelsie whilst filming.

CHELSIE - DIRECTOR

The director is in charge of bringing the vision to life. They oversee the production while assisting and directing the whole set, whilst supervising the actors and other staff in the production.

On set Chelsie took control of organising everyone from actors to the camera operators. She demonstrated to the actors how they scene will look and what they needed to do as well as explained the shots we needed to get to the camera operator.

ASHLEY - STORY CREATOR/SOUND OPERATOR

The story creator writes the initial concept for the script before pitching it to the rest of the team.

Ashley originally gained inspiration from Scream Queens and Skins when creating our idea for ‘The Last Day’. She then pitched the idea to the rest of the company and we expanded on it to make it into what we used in the final trailer.

DYLAN - PRODUCER

A producer is in charge of the managerial and financial aspects of the production of a film.

Dylan organised the team during pre-production by creating a schedule for filming, getting actors to be apart of the trailer and for gaining permission and hiring the filming locations. Dylan also assisted the filming process by suggesting ideas on how we could create our idea.

DESTINEE - CAMERA OPERATOR

Camera Operators are apart of the behind the scenes during production. They record the shots for the film and follow the script to make sure everything is in order. They are beneficial to production as they can analyse what the idea will look like before the edit and offer additional suggestions to improve the film.

Destinee recorded our trailer and worked efficiently and effectively on set as well as took direction from Chelsie well.

TRAILER IDEA

A group of friends break into their school late at night intending to have a good time on their last day of summer. To

their surprise a killer is waiting to play a game with the friends. Their friendship is tested whilst they fight for survival.

STYLE OF OUR CONTENTThe style of our content has mystery elements but is primarily a psychological thriller.

OUR RESEARCHAs a group we accumulated primary research by creating a questionnaire to ask audiences about the film industry. We wanted to find out what our target audience want and what their preferences are for film genres and content. We found this to be highly beneficial because we gained information that gave us an insight to what we should produce for our trailer.

RESULTS

The graph above shows the information we received from our survey. The results show 47.1% prefer to watch films rated 18, with films rated 15 being a close second at 35.3%

TARGET AUDIENCEOur target audience is both genders aged 16-30 as we know how to make relatable films for this age group. Our research shows that this age group is the most likely to watch thriller and mystery films and as we will be making films within that genre it is a logical step to aim them towards the appropriate target audience.

RESOURCESThe resources we needed for production were:

● Canon Camera 7D● Tripod● Microphone● Actors ● A filming location ● Editing software and computer

We were luckily enough to have a vast filming location at our college that we could book out as well as knowing people that could act for us. Once we filmed, we took the shots to edit, we used Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X.

SCHEDULE FOR PRODUCTIONPre-Production: We allocated 2 weeks to complete the necessary pre-production work and to organise everything we needed to successfully be able to start production.

Production: We knew the trailer would take 6 hours to film, but as the trailer is set in two main location we decided it would be more efficient to film over two days.

Post-Production: This stage took 1 day to complete as the trailer is short and didn’t require a lot of time to edit.

LEGAL AND ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS

Our trailer won’t face any legal issues as it contains music that is copyright free as well as not displaying any libel language or actions.

No ethical problems should occur as we shot the trailer under the correct regulations and followed current health and safety rules. The trailer doesn’t contain anything related to religion or discrimination either.
