Purpose of Wearing Uniform

Rescue 1122 is a Life & Health Care Profession. A Rescuer’s appearance measures part of his or her Professionalism. Proper wear of the uniform is a matter of personal pride for Rescuers.

Wearing Uniform inducts Uniformity, Discipline & Pride among the Rescuers which is vital for the sustainability of any growing Organization.

• Rescuers have an individual responsibility

for ensuring their appearance reflects the

highest level of professionalism. • Leaders, at all levels, have a responsibility

for implementing and applying the

standards contained in this regulation to

ensure the best interests of the Service.

Uniform Regulations

This regulation prescribes the authorization for wear, composition, and classification of uniforms, and the occasions for wearing all personal, optional, and commonly worn organizational clothing and individual equipment uniforms.

Respect of Uniform• The highest standards of smartness in uniform appearance shall

be ensured.• No articles shall protrude from or be visible on the uniform. • Civil bags (computer, briefcases, gym & garment etc.) shall be

hand carried only. However, Backpacks and women shoulder bags shall be worn over either the left or both shoulders. Only black or red color shall be allowed with no ornamentation.

• Non faddish corrective glasses and conservative sunglasses shall be permitted. Plain black retainer straps, snugly fitted against back of head shall be attached for prevention and safety during rescue operation.

Respect of Uniform (contin..)

• Tinted contact lenses shall be of black or brown color.

• Appropriate undergarments shall be worn to preserve the dignity and appearance of the uniform.

• The officials shall not be allowed to put their hands in their pockets in uniform.

• Smoking or using tobacco products is prohibited during walking from point to point while in uniform.

• All officials of the Service shall wear a uniform for identification as prescribed in the rules.

• The uniform shall always be clean, tidy and well kept.

• The uniform shall be worn while on duty, official activities and ceremonial functions.

• Men keep hair clean and groomed. Hair above the ears and around the neck shall be trimmed from the lower natural hairline upwards at least 3/4 inch and outward not greater than 3/4 inch to blend with hair style and bulk of the hair shall not exceed two inches.

• Faddish and outrageous styled including plaited or braided multicolored hair shall not be authorized.

• Sideburns shall not extend below a point level with the middle of the ear, of even width (not flared) and end with a clean shaven horizontal line.

• Men shall keep their face shaven unless a waiver is authorized.

• Mustaches of natural color (black & white) shall be authorized but shall be kept neatly and closely trimmed. No portion of the mustache shall extend below the lip line of the upper lip. It shall not go beyond a horizontal line extending across the corners of the mouth and no more than 1/4 inch beyond a vertical line drawn from the corner of the mouth. Handlebar mustaches, goatees, eccentricities shall not be permitted.

Standard uniform of the Service• Finger nails shall be kept clean and not extend

past finger tips. Nail polish is not authorized and only one ring shall be worn on the left hand only.

• Earrings/ piercing and body tattoos shall not be authorized.

• The use of gold, platinum, or other veneers or caps for purposes of dental ornamentation shall be prohibited. Dental braces shall be worn on the advice of dentist.
