April 3, 1973 on top of 50-story Alliance Capital Building in

New York was mounted base station.

Although cell phones are everywhere now, Cooper is still not satisfied.

Cooper also thought that by now would phones be

implantable devices. • There are always trade-

offs with new technology.

But the wider public has only used cell phones for about 15 years now, and they are already considered necessary by nearly everybody.
