The first thing I did was right click on sounds in the menu area and select “create sound”

A pop up box appears and if you click on the open file icon and find where you saved your sounds, you can open them and save them into gamemaker as sound files.

After I had added the sounds, I opened up one of the objects I wanted to attach a sound to and selected “main 1” in the little drop down menu on the far right of screen. After that I clicked on the icon representing a speaker, you can locate thins under sounds (it’s the one on the left of this menu).

After you drag and drop this option over to the actions bar a menu should appear. Make sure loop is set to false then click the file locator symbol and find the sound you’re looking for (see screen shot below).

And that’s it, once you’ve followed all of these steps play the game to make sure they work and then. If they do, you’re all done.
