The Addams Family

At first you may get the impression that this film is a Christmas film with the carol singers, after showing the carol singers the camera then proceeds to show a gothic family that doesn’t seem to appreciate the carol singers and plans to tip something onto them from a steamy cauldron. This gives the impression to me is that this film is going to be about an unusual creepy, gothic family and their antics.

Before showing the carol singers, you can hear them, gradually getting louder the closer the camera gets to them, once the carol singers are on screen the camera pans to the left, revealing more carol singers, once it has reached the last singer the camera crane shots upwards, showing the old dark house.

Once reaching the top of the house the camera shows a low angle, looking up at a mischievous family, wearing formal dark clothing, slowly tilting a cauldron, as they slowly tilt the cauldron the camera looks like it is entering the cauldron.
