This oil painting shows the scene of ship crashing. It is a beautiful picture. In the background, there is the amazing grey

sky and a very high cliff. In the foreground there are giant waves repelling the boat to the shore. The men on the boat may be

saying their prayers. It may be the last minute of their life… Also, there are some birds flying in horror on the right.

The colours are mostly pink and blue in natural shades and the picture looks very realistic and interesting.

• This oil painting by Fedor Alekseev shows a city scene in Red Square, the market place. It is a landscape of Moscow of the 18th century. The background is sky and roofs of buildings. You can alco see magnificient St. Vasiliy Cathedral and the Spaskaya Tower. In the foreground, there are people riding horses in the left side and people walking around the bazaar in the right. The colours are mostly blue, green and yellow in natural shades and the picture looks very realistic.

Bogatirsby Igor Beriozkin

This oil painting by Vasnetsov shows Russian warriors. It is a portrait of three

heroes: Dobrinya Nikitich, Ilya Murometz and Alesha Popovich. The background is sky and

hills. In the foreground, warriors on horsebacks are watching the borders of the Russian land. The colours are mostly green, grey and black in natural shades. I think this

picture was written on the base of the Russian legends, looks very realistic and made me feel

proud.

Liberty Leading the People

by Ferdinand Victor Eugene Delacroix.

This oil painting shows the scene of the July Revolution of 1830. In the

foreground there a woman holding the national flag of France in one

hand and a musket in the other, and various French citizens in the

background. The colours are mostly dark: blue, grey and yellow - the

brightest colour is red. The picture looks very realistic.

The name of the picture is ‘’Waiting for an answer’’. It is painted by Russian painter Mikhail Fillipovich Ivanov in 1900. In the foreground you can see a man and a beautiful woman. They are dressed in traditional Russian clothes. The woman is very sad. The man asked something and is waiting for a response. The scene is very attractive. The weather is good. The colours are mostly green, white, black and red in nature shades and the picture looks very realistic.

Korovin Konstantin «The Northern Idyll»• This oil painting shows a country scene. The background is sky and a

beautiful landscape. In the foreground four young girls and a guy playing a wooden pipe. They may be have been picking berries and have stopped for a rest. The painting must be quite old, because people are wearing traditional Russian clothes. The colours are bright, mostly red, green and blue.

In the picture by Konstantin Somov we can see a young girl, sitting on a bench in the garden, beside her beautiful yellow flowers. Natalie is wearing a light blue dress, you can see that she is reading an interesting book, because her eyes are sticked into in the text. The colours are mostly

Menshikov in Berezovo by Vasiliy Surikov

This oil painting shows a country scene. This picture illustrates the

sadness of the Menshikovs. The background shows the furnishing of the

house. In the foreground, Menshikov and his daughters are sitting and

may be thinking about the past. The girls are well dressed and very

beautiful. The colours are mostly black and grey.
