Beginning the Tegrity Pilot

Page 5: Tegrity SidLit Presentation

Initial Thoughts on Tegrity Software vs. Hardware based Installations: no limits Licensing: FTE vs. Instructor/recorder

seats or “Course” Compatibility: PC and Mac? Direct linking to recordings Public link or access Asynchronous usage more

important than synchronous

Page 6: Tegrity SidLit Presentation

Preparation for Spring 08 Selecting the pilot faculty Server Setup: test and prod server Integration: Pushing Tegrity Classes link

to selected Blackboard courses Testing equipment for kits as well as

Blackboard/Tegrity integration

Page 7: Tegrity SidLit Presentation

Pilot Faculty Training

Scheduled Training: 1 ½ hour long, daily for 1 week Included installing software and

equipment from kit Capped training numbers to

have better trainer/trainee ratio Some Mac users dropped because no

video support at that time Distributed kits to attendees

Page 8: Tegrity SidLit Presentation

In the meantime…

April: ½ day visit with Tegrity VP Research and DevelopmentDiscussed existing issuesSuggested features neededPushed for better Mac compatibilityInquired about roadmap

July: sent Chad to Tegrity User’s Conference

Page 9: Tegrity SidLit Presentation

End of Spring 08

Usage minimal: most by faculty who were still using older recordings from the cart

Kits returned Faculty “I will develop for Fall” Not enough time to prepare for Spring

Insert picture of the kit

Page 10: Tegrity SidLit Presentation

Preparing for Fall 08 Sent reminder to faculty to inform us about

Fall courses that needed the Tegrity Classes link

Low response Asked faculty who were not using the kits to

return them so we could redistribute to waiting faculty

Some kits were returned (some missing items) Continued adding faculty participants as

others dropped out

Page 11: Tegrity SidLit Presentation

End of Pilot Report

Should we adopt/license? Surveyed Faculty/Student users Pulled usage reports Surveys were positive Reports reflected great scalability

Page 12: Tegrity SidLit Presentation

The Future of Tegrity & Classroom Capture at WSU

Future dependent upon licensing and increased adoption

Pricing is high per faculty user/FTE but may be good when compared to hardware solutions, etc.

Users that use it, love it
