Professional Specialization Certificate (PSC) in TEFL• 150 hours of blended delivery instruction, including:o 75 hours (3 weeks) of on-campus classroom-based learningo 75 hours (3 months) of online learning following return tohome country• Successful candidates receive a Professional Specialization Certificate inTEFL from the University of Victoria

Customized TEFL Programs(developed in consultation with sponsoring institution)• 2-6 weeks in duration• 15-30 hours per week of classes and workshops• Optional online content delivery• Successful candidates receive a Certificate of Completionfrom the University of Victoria

TEFL for Native Speakers of EnglishThis 120-hour non-credit course is intended for people with little or no EFL teaching experience. It provides a survey of fundamental theoretical and practical concepts related to teaching English as a foreign language. By the end of the course you will acquire knowledge, skills, strategies, and cultural awareness, and be familiar with the following:

• methodology for teaching the four skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking)

• second language acquisition theory• classroom organization, teaching, and assessment

techniques• understanding cultural diversity• teaching learning strategies to maximize learning in the

classroom• empowering learners to manage their own learning process.
