of Costa Rica, in the Province of Guanacaste and is the most accessible location along the
northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, with paved roads leading in and an airstrip serviced 7

Tamarindo National Park Tamarindo Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica and part of a bay formed
by a cape, and Playa Grande lies to the north of Tamarindo inside the bay. These beaches are
part of Las Baulas National Park. Las Baulas park is named for the giant leatherback turtle,
and the beaches in the park comprise one of the major nesting sites for the turtles worldwide.

Tamarindo Costa Rican Culture There’s no better way to experience the Costa Rican culture than to visit one of the typical
celebrations that take place in the evenings virtually every week in a town around Tamarindo
Beach during the Costa Rica Gold Season, between December through May. As a matter of
fact, Guanacaste is famous for its spirit-filled typical fiestas with traditional bull riding and
colorful horse parades with dancing as well. Merengue, Cumbia, and Salsa are the typical
music played at these fiestas, and don’t forget to try the various foods like beef and potatoes,
fried chicken, chicharrones, corn on the cob, … and for desert, sugared donut sticks.
