 Attend  the  Common  Read  Keynote  Address,  Monday  10/3,  7:00  pm,  International  Ballroom,  Pitman  Center.    Take  notes  during  the  talk.    Write  up  a  one-­‐paged,  typed,  double-­‐spaced  summary/response.    

Summary  –  in  a  substantial  paragraph,  summarize  Sy  Montgomery’s  talk.  Focus  on  the  main  point  of  her  talk  and  supporting  points.    Response  –  in  another  substantial  paragraph,  write  about  what  you  think  and  feel  about  Montgomery’s  talk.  Was  anything  she  said  new  or  surprising  to  you?  Do  you  feel  strongly  (positively  or  negatively)  about  something  she  said?  Do  you  think  or  feel  differently  about  something  after  her  talk?  Is  there  something  you  wish  she  had  discussed  that  she  didn’t?
