Like as to make our appetites more keen Alas it is true that I have gone here and there and I have made myself miscellaneous to the

view

With eager compounds we our palate urge; I was unfaithful to you, and I had made fun of myself in front of others

 

As, to prevent our maladies unseen, I have snatched my own thoughts, sold cheap what is most dear, / I have made old offences of new affections

We sicken to shun sickness when we purge; I have damaged the purity of my thoughts, which are vey dear to me, and took part in new love affairs

 

Ev'n so, being full of your ne'er-cloying sweetness, It’s true , that I have looked towards truth strangely but apart from it

To bitter sauces did I frame my feeding; I have observes love, sincerity, and honesty with intuition as if they were strangers, but I swear now,

 

And, sick of welfare, found a kind of meetness "These movements gave my heart another youth

To be diseased ere that there was true needing. These instances in which I have turned away from you have integrated me, and proved to me I am better then the other lovers

 

Thus policy in love, t' anticipate "Now all is done it has no end I will never grind myself in appetite

The ills that were not, grew to faults assured, Now that I'm finished with those exploits, take my endless love I would not waste my sexual desires

And brought to medicine a healthful state On the basis of new proofs in which I am confined, a god in love to try an older friend

 

Which, rank of goodness, would by ill be cured; I have attempted to cure something totally good by applying evil to it

But thence I learn, and find the lesson true, Then I learnt from it that what I have learnt is true

Drugs poison him that so fell sick of you. So take me back, I want only to be with you in heaven

DISCOURSE DEVIATION• LITERARY COMMUNICATION IS DIFFERENT FROM NONLITERARY COMMUNICATION SO

DUE TO THIS DIFFERENCE THE DEVIATION COMES IN FRONT OF US THAT IS CALLED DISCOURSE DEVIATION. IN THIS POEM THE POET HAS USED “I” AND THIS SONNET IS A MONOLOGUE SO THE ADDRESSER IS “I” THAT IS POET’S NONSOCIAL SELF AND THE ADDRESSEE IS HIS LOVER. SENDER IS THE POET WHO IS SHAKESPEARE AND RECEIVER IS THE AUDIENCE THAT IS “WE”.
