Strange Things Around The World

IntroductionThe world can sometimes be a very weird place. But guess what? Its about to get weirder. Science has a way of surprising us with all kinds of crazy phenomenon's that make little no sense to people without fancy schmancy degrees. I do my best to understand and my go-to favorite explanation.

Lake Natron

Lake Natronis asaltandsoda lakein theArusha Regionof northernTanzania. The lake is close to theKenyanborder and is in the Gregory Rift, which is the eastern branch of theEast African Rift. The lake is a maximum of 57 kilometres (35mi) long and 22 kilometres (14mi) wide. Temperatures at the lake are frequently above 40C (104F).

ContinueThe alkaline water in Lake Natron has a pH as high as 10.5 and is so caustic it can burn the skin and eyes of animals that aren't adapted to it. The water's alkalinity comes from the sodium carbonate and other minerals that flow into the lake from the surrounding hills. And deposits of sodium carbonate which was once used in Egyptian mummification also acts as a type of preservative for those animals unlucky enough to die in the waters of Lake Natron.

The Underwater Waterfall Illusion at MauritiusIsland

Mauritiusis an island nation in the Indian Ocean about 2,000 kilometres (1,200 mi) off the southeast coast of the African continent. Mauritius was first discovered by the Arabs in 975 AD. Located at the Southwestern tip of the island you will find a fascinating illusion. When viewed from above, a runoff of sand and silt deposits creates the impression of an underwater waterfall.

This then darkens and matures to give blue, purple, orange, copper, brown, green, pink and then maroon tones. . The wood is used for particleboard, boats, construction lumber, plywood, and many other options. Mainly for pulpwood used in making paper. They grow 2 m (6 ft.) wide and over 60 m (200 ft.) tall.

Wonder Of Rainbow Eucalyptus

Door To HellThe Door to Hell (Turkmenistan): This was once a gas field, but the Soviets set it on fire. Now, it has been burning for over 40 years. It seems that the dangerous pit of fire will never stop burning.

Danxia landform

The Danxia landform refers to various landscapes found in southeast, southwest and northwest China that "consist of a red bed characterized by steep cliffs". It is a unique type of petrographic geomorphology found in China. Danxia landform is formed from red colored sandstones and conglomerates of largely Cretaceous age. In 2010, several danxia landscapes in southern China, with a general name of "China Danxia", were inscribed as a World Heritage Site.
