Write a proposal about your idea convincing the audience that it is a
good one and will appeal to the audience.
Idea Summary
The end of the world is less than 12 hours away and everyone is an urgent panic. Hell breaks loose, banks are being robbed, shops are being looted and streets and home are on fire. The film follows the story of how ex-detective, Alex, spends his last hours on the world, trying to find his love.
Group Roles
• In the group, Emily will be doing most of the camera work, and Amelia will be doing the directing.
• However sometimes it will appropriate to swap roles, or maybe give a hand in the other role.
Characters
In our film the main characters are:• The Ex Detective, Alex• News Reporter, James Steward• Damsel In Distress, Lucy• Family Members
We do not know who will be playing the roles in our film yet.
Locations
The locations used in our film are:• A family home – this is included in a lot of
other thriller films because it gives a sense of security so we thought we would include it.
• Streets – where most of the action will be taking place
• A news studio – For the news report to be recorded and to look professional, however we will be using the green screen for this.
Costumes
We need various outfits for each of our characters and they will be specific.
• Police Uniforms• Casual Outfit - Mainly for other characters
like Alex, who will be going around in everyday clothes.
• Smart suit for news reporter – To look professional
• Balaclavas – For people robbing the banks
Props• Guns – For the people who are committing
crimes, guns are common choice of weapon in thriller films.
• Writing Equipment – For the close up scene in the beginning when he is leaving a letter.
• Phone – main use of contact between characters.
• TV – This is for the broadcast at the begging of the film.
• kettle and mug – He drops this when he is shocked from the news.
Soundtracks
• We haven’t yet chosen a soundtrack for our movie.
• But we will need something tension building and that will create suspense for the audience
• However as well as this, it has to be relevant to the film.
Effects
• Fast pace shots will be included in my opening sequence, as well as jump cuts to build tension. Also continuity editing will be included to make the film flow through the parts without action.
• Match on action shots will also be in the opening sequence to pay attention to detail.
• We are going to use dimmed lighting to add seriousness to the situation and a sense of darkness to the film.
