Note-Taking Systems

Note-taking systems vary, each with its merits and demerits. When you are deciding what to put in your notebook and how to put it there, three things should inform your decision.

1. Writing down only the things you know you need to remember.

2. Capturing the result of how the lecturer is presenting the material.

3. Ensuring the form your notes take makes it as easy as possible for you to review and study them.
