WHAT HAVE I DONE?

1. Sound editing of each individual interview

2. Choosing appropriate music

Page 3: Sound development

FIRST CLIP EDITING

The first clip I edited was the interview with Mr. Binge. I used iMovie to remove the background.

The noise was too bad so we ended up redoing the interview with a sound recorder.

I reduced background noise by 100% and chose “Hum Reduction” for the equalizer.

SECOND CLIP EDITING

The second clip I edited was the interview with the Legislative Council Kenneth Chan. I also used iMovie for this clip.

The original clip already had pretty good sound quality because we did it in a indoors quiet room.

I reduced background noise by 100% and chose “Bass Reduction” for the equalizer.

THIRD CLIP EDITING

The third clip I edited was the same interview with the Legislative Council Kenneth Chan as the clip before.

This is a clip from a different angle.

I reduced background noise by 100% and chose “Flat” for the equalizer.

FOURTH CLIP EDITING

The fourth clip I edited was the interview of Belinda Greer, the Deputy CEO of ESF and Vivien Cheung, the chief financial officer of the ESF.

The sound quality wasn’t too bad for this video but there was still background noise.

I reduced background noise by 100% and chose “Hum Reduction” for the equalizer.

FIFTH CLIP EDITING

The fifth clip I edited was also the interview with Belinda and Vivien but from a different camera angle.

The sound quality of this video wasn’t that good so I removed the background noise twice on iMovie.

I reduced background noise by 100% and chose “Hum Reduction” for the equalizer.

FIRST MUSIC EDIT

For the background music, I chose five different songs to choose from.

This song is very lively but it didn’t seem to suit the video.

This song was used in the “Spirit of Island School” video.

This song is used in the weather news broadcast.

This song is quite dramatic and there are no copy rights.

This song is a “Happy Song” and it suited the video well.

For the first edit, I used the “Free Montage Song” since it suit the video and was dramatic. However, the climax was dragging out for too long so I decided to change the music.

FINAL MUSIC EDIT

For the background music, I chose five different songs to choose from.

For the start of the song I used the “Happy Song” to start the video. Then I faded it out after 4.2 minutes.

After that, I faded in the “Free Montage Song”. The dramatic end the video fit our video well.
