Software Freedom Day
Software Freedom Day (SFD) is a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS).
The non-profit organization Digital Freedom Foundation coordinates Software Freedom Day at a global level, but volunteer teams around the world organize the local SFD events to impact their own communities.
Our vision is to empower all people to freely connect, create and share in a digital world that is participatory, transparent, and sustainable.

Software Freedom Day in Nepal
FOSS Nepal Community has been regularly organizing and celebrating Software freedom day since 2005.
From 2007 to 2009, for three consecutive years, FOSS Nepal's SFD celebration was recognized as the best event in the world.
More importantly its completely Volunteer lead effort.

Objectives of SFD Celebration
Encourage, foster and celebrate adoption of free software, open standards, software freedom and the people behind it.
Promote the local IT ecosystem including IT Companies, IT user and Policy makers about the importance and benefits for Free and Open Source Software and Software freedom.
Demonstration, distribution, troubleshooting and expert advice on various Linux Distribution and Enterprises Applications.
