Celebration or Commemoration✤ Over time, ANZAC day is believed to have lost its

meaning as it has become much more commercialised. It has become too much of a celebration rather than a commemoration. Some believe that ANZAC day should not be so publicised and should instead be a more quiet event.

✤ It has been 100 years since the battle at Galipoli and all who have fought in the war have since passed away. It is reasonable to say that the current generation do not commemorate this day the way it was commemorated in the past. They do not directly know anyone who was affected by this event.
