Advantages of Questionnaires

• Most researchers use Questionnaires because of the advantages it offers;– Practical: it’s quick and cheap. The data is easy to quantify.– Reliable: the questions are repeated, response will be

similar and the respondent weren’t be influenced by the researcher.

– Hypothesis testing– Detachment and objectivity– Representativeness– Ethical issues

Disadvantages of Questionnaires

• However, there are also disadvantages;– Practical problems: limited and superficial and is the

questionnaire answered by the person who it is addressed to.

– Questionnaires as snapshots– Detachment– Lying, forgetting and “right answerism”– Imposing the researcher’s meanings– Inflexibility– Response rate

Question 5 - Do you think The Man released his anxiety in a correct manner? If no, what do

you think he should have done?

19 students thought “Yes” he did release his stress and angry in a correct way, going to the gym. However, 1 student didn’t agree to this statement. They said “He should've spoken to his boss about pressurising him with lots of work. How is someone supposed to know what you need or what if you don't ask”. This makes complete sense but we wanted to portray struggle and someone being trapped.

Question 6 - What could be improved? Would you recommend this short film?

We also received critical feedback on how to improve the short film;•Sound levels•More speech•Less of repeated scenesThese feedbacks were taken into consideration and we found it made Escape better.

After find out some potential changes to be made, 12 students mentioned they would recommend Escape to their family and friends. However 8 students said they wouldn’t. Of course, feedback like this is understandable because not everyone enjoys they film they’ve watched in cinemas, therefore they wouldn’t recommend it to friends.
