The analysis was based on the collection of data through questionnaires forstudents, teachers and parents involved in the project.

In the questionnaires, each item in assessment was based on a rating scale of 5item values, where 1 is using for the lowest level and 5 for the highest level.

STUDENTS’ EVALUATION

Good and bad …The ups and downs about the Comenius project through theeyes of the teens involved in it.

Very Good Good Not so good

The food served in some countries is very different from ours;

The programs/visits weren´t planned for the teenagers

Almost all the students considered that the Project has increased, in anexcellent way (level 4 and 5), their motivation to learn English or otherlanguages.

In what concerns the contribution of the Project to increase their ICTand multimedia skills to create new products, they think the Projectdidn´t have an important role for them in this item because they werealready very familiar to all these new technologies and almost half ofthem evaluated that contribution in a medium level.

The great majority of the students were satisfied with the Projectactivities.

Almost all the students considered that the Project has contributedeffectively (level 5 - 91%) to share knowledge and experiences.

A very representative percentage of the students (73%) considered thatthe Project helped them in an excellent way (level 5) to develop theirmulticultural awareness and the rest of them (27%) considered thatcontribution in a good level (level 4).

More than 80% of the students considered that the Project has increasedtheir awareness of food issues, in an excellent or very high level and lessthan 20% considered it in a satisfactory level (18% - level 3).

A significant percentage of the students (73%) considered, in an excellent orvery high level, that during the Project they realised the importance ofhealthy eating (less than 20% in a satisfactory level (18% - level 3) and only9% of the students didn´t realise the importance of healthy eating).

During the Project 73% of the students realised the importance of physicalactivity, in a very good or excellent level and 27% of them considered that ina satisfactory level.

In what concerns the fact that the Project has changed students’eating habits, less than 20% of the students considered it wasn’t in asignificant level (level 1 and 2), 18% of the students considered that theProject had some influence and more than half of them consideredthat the Project had much influence in changing their eating habits.

91% of the students considered that their participation in the Projecthas increased their appreciation for traditional food in an excellent orvery high level. Only 9% of them don’t think that way.

SUMMARY

Given the results, we can say that globally the involvement and participationin the project influenced/developed, very positively, the knowledge andabilities of students, the level of motivation for learning English, contributedto share knowledge and experiences, realised the importance of healthyeating and the practice of physical activity, influenced a change in eatinghabits and developed the appreciation for traditional food .

5. Increased your interest towards a European dimension

Most important comments by the teachers:

- The knowledge acquired and friendship between all the participants;- The exchange of experiences;- The relationship among the students from different nationalities;- The increasing of social and communicative skills.

TEACHERS ’ EVALUATION

All the teachers considered that the participation in the Project contributedin a very high scale for the increased use of the English language tocommunicate (level 4 and 5 – 100%).

Most of the teachers considered that the participation in the Projectcontributed very much (level 4 and 5 – 100%) to the development of amulticultural experience .

Sharing knowledge and experience were recognized for everyone as veryimportant issues in this Project (level 4 and 5 – 100%).

Likewise the project also contributed very much (level 4 and 5 – 100%) to thecreation of a database of materials to be reused (Blog and Virtual Guide)

All the teachers considered that this Project increased in a very high scale(level 4 and 5 – 100%) their interest towards a European dimension ofeducation.

Most important comments by the parents:

- A very good experience to all the students because they had theopportunity to go abroad and meet new people and differentcultures;

- The friendship among students and families from differentnationalities;

- The possibility of hosting children from other countries.

Most of the parents were very satisfied with the “participation of their children in thisProject”.

All of them considered very positive “the experience of hosting a foreign student athome” (level 4 - 9% and 5 - 95%).

More than half of the parents considered that the “Project made them think about theimportance of healthy habits”.

The great majority of the parents (91%) considered that the Project had an excellentimpact about the “Knowledge of other realities and respect for people with othernationality”.

In what concerns the “Development of national identity” (appreciation of what is "ours")praticaly all parents (91%) considered that the Project contributed in an excellent wayto the Development of national identity.

FINAL CONCLUSIONS

Given the results presented in the reviewed items we can conclude that theproject had a very positive impact for students, teachers and parents,considering that most of the items were evaluated in the upper levels of theused scale.
