1. The reading portion should provide as clear a definition as the near portion.

2. OD should coincide with DVP and ON should coincide NVP.

3. When ON doesn’t coincide with NP, the prismatic effect occurs.

4. There should be no sudden introduction of prismatic effect by the segment at it’s dividing line.
