In 1908, the first Salesian Sisters arrived in the U.S.A. and settled in New Jersey.

The Community of Salesian Sisters was founded by St. John Bosco,

Living and working together in the name of the Lord is an essential element of our Salesian vocation.

In and through the community

In an atmosphere of open

sisterly dialogue

and with the guidance of the Spirit

we reach out to the young and become for them, especially those most in need, signs and bearers of God's love. By the support and contributions of each Sister, our community becomes a witness to society of the powerful joy and love of Jesus who fulfills every human longing for happiness and meaning.

Who are we?

Our life

Ministry

Poverty, or simplicity of life, is a commitment to share all that

we have including our time, talents, and presence.

Chastity enables us to follow Christ with an undivided heart. It calls us to a deep personal relationship with God who sends us forth to

proclaim the Good News to his people especially the young. It helps us nurture healthy and integrated relationships with others who we

see as Christ himself.

Obedience places us in an attitude of listening to what is asked of us through our community, the signs of the times, and the needs of the young.

Our life

Ministry

We educate and walk with the young in the spirit of St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello. It is a spirit of joy, friendship, love for life and service that flow from a personal relationship with Christ.

We follow the example of Mary, the Help of Christians, who models the ideals of womanhood as we live our Salesian charism in fidelity to the Church at the service of youth.

The education is carried out in the family spirit, utilizing the principles of

reason, religion, and loving kindness

...among the young ...for the young ...with the young
