Senior Secondary School 2006

50 teachers (6 on short term contracts)

• 40 subject websites (Janison) currently operating, of these 23 run E-learning activities

• 17 new sites were developed during 06/07

• 24 teachers maintain the 40 currently active sites (14 teachers maintain 2 or more sites)

• 39 teachers expect students to use subject web sites

• 30 teachers currently embed E-learning activities into teaching (forums, web2, tests, memos, file exchange etc)

• 9 teachers use Centra

• 32 teachers use CaptureCam, of these, 13 consider it an essential tool to support teaching/learning

Lead IT program

Evaluation

• A choice of LEAD IT teachers meant a prompt response useful

• Pro-active LEAD IT approach was appreciated - the program fostered a culture of sharing knowledge

• One on one is the preferred support – can get lost in group sessions

• LEAD IT teachers had a range of skills between them

• LEAD IT teachers prepared to find solutions over time

• LEAD IT Mondays were useful for problem solving as a group • Instructional resource folder in each room worked well

• Many teachers thought their confidence to use ICTs had improved

• Teachers gained insights from show and tell sessions
