Roald Dahl was a writer.One of the most successful and well-known of

allChildren´s writers.

Roald Dahl was born in 1.916 in Wales, in the UK.

So, he was British, although his parents were from

Norway. He was educated in England.

The young Roald loved stories and books. His mother use to told him and his sisters talesabout trolls and other mythical Norwegian

creatures

He worked in Africa: crocodiles, snakes and safaries. He lived in the jungle, learned to speak Swahili and suffered from malaria. He was a fighter pilot during the second World War.

In Washington started to write stories. When he was 27 years old, he published his first children´s book, The Gremlims with Walt Disney.

His books are fantasy, full of imagination. Sometimes a little cruel, but always with humour.

His books have been translated into many languages. Children from all over the world like reading Roald Dahl´s books.
