soft, changes shape, unique and mysterious.

Having a well working brain means you have an

How Does It Work?

Given at the entrance of the campus.

Divides into two parts: one for the newcomer and other for the family

Each user is leaded differently through the process.

At the end of the registration process, the device of the student changes shape and is kept since it can be used during the university life, the device of parents are taken back while leaving the campus.

The device has a screen, camera and

speakers at the division side.

The other side is in the shape of a half sphere and has a

texture similar to the brain.

It is soft, touchable and playable. On the screen, the user can find any information

related to the process

such as the campus navigation, necessary

documents, information of where the other device is, a contact list of other

students.

Students: At each step the brain textured part changes shape (by

cutting?). At the end only the electronic device is left to be used through the university life. (as the vpad used in classes or as a tablet for the books to be uploaded etc.)

The latest device does not fit to the device of parents and gives the

sense of individualism.

Family: The device leads them to the place they are lingered by a

graduates desk where they can talk to graduate students of Koc

University. There are also many other activities for them to spend

their time. Through the device they can watch what their child is doing.

• As they get the device at the front gate of the campus, the device starts giving information about the university and the campus. While they pass the buildings, it gives information about where they are by simply saying “On your right side you are passing the health center. The health center of our school is American Hospital which is one of the best hospitals of Turkey” etc.

• When the student and family get to the registration place, each device lead their user. The students are leaded to complete the process. While doing so the device navigates them different places in the campus where they can attend some events such as concerts of school bands, and a small festival organized by the school’s organization club SAK.

• While making the student attend some events at different locations of the campus, the device gives information about where the newcomer is and help complete the distribution of documents to places such as the health center, library and YapıKredi.

• At each step of the registration the device changes shape and makes the newcomer feel one step closer to become a collage student. The shape changing process happens by cutting pieces off the device.

• Through the process from time to time the device asks questions about the mood of the newcomer. If the student has questions creates an opportunity to ask or leads mentors to help.

• At the end of the process, by the help of the device, the student completes the registration easily and quickly by having a chance to spent time at the campus as a Koc University student.

• While leaving the campus, the device of the student is kept to be used during the education life.

One sentence concept description:

With the device, we aim to make the user feel belonging to Koc University, complete the registration process easily, quickly and enjoyably and interact at the campus by not only navigating them from event to event but also by making them touch the soft outside of the device and change it’s shape by cutting, while completing the process.
