Stone Age Day

There was something strange about the school playground yesterday; instead of the usual school uniform there were leopard skins and fur! It was STONE AGE DAY! Even the teachers wore Stone Age costumes as we walked through the door, we admired each other’s costumes. Firstly, we made mini henge's out of clay on pieces of cardboard,(it was harder than it looked!)They were falling and falling and falling it was very very frustrating how did the Stone Age people do it? Next, we made cave paintings of our hands, we used chalk and pastels when people finished they went outside and Mrs Pugh sprayed our hands it really really TICKLED! They looked like real Stone Age paintings. As we were doing our Stone Age paintings we watched lots and lots Stone Age videos. Some were funny, and some of them were interesting! After lunch we did our DT booklets we looked how to make a round house we had to draw them then we wrote what we had to use to make a round house.

Stone Age Day

There was something different about the playground at Greenfields Primary School this morning. All the people were dressed in camouflage and striped animal skin red and black. Surprisingly for the year 3 4 it was STONE age day first in the morning we made some hinges out of clay .That was very hard to make it stick without glue loads of different styles of hinges loads of little pieces after that then it was break time my friends played tag after that. Me and my partner drew a cave panting with pastels because they have got more effect on the drawing then Mrs Pugh mixed paint and water diluted and spray it on our hands.

Stone Age Day

Yesterday there was something different about year 3 and 4 they were in funny costumes of leopard fur .All the other children were looking at us funny when we were waiting outside. And Mr Hunt greeted us with a Stone Age word search . Because it was Stone Age day! Excited Mr Hunt told the children that they were going to watch some videos on Stone henge and try and make our own with clay. It was super squidgy and fiddly in your hands we hard to make them stand up. Then we made cave paintings with pastels (witch was very messy)by mixing brown and other colours . When we finished Mrs Pugh sprayed paint witch felt like it had ice in and water. Ten we went out to lunch. After lunch we had a piece of paper with cave paintings and we tried to copy them into our art book. (It was very tricky) to copy them. After that Mr Hunt handed out our Iron Age round house booklets and did the next page called step by step were we had to write the order of the steps and it hard to draw the pictures of the steps. Then we moved onto drawing our final design and labelling it. Also we did what we will need to make our round houses. Overall we had loads of fun and got very messy and enjoyed hitting each other with blow up clubs. We admired each other’s clothing it was amazing! Ellie-Mae and Alex

Stone Age Day

There was something different about the playground at Greenfields Primary School yesterday morning. Everybody was wearing leopard print, stripes and different types of coloured fur. There was people with bones in their hair and very deadly weapons made from flint and stone (like clubs and axes .) Had the school been attacked by strangely dressed invaders? NO, it was STONE AGE DAY! In year 3 and 4. (hooray) Everyone headed towards the door admiring each other's costumes; the class ran to their lockers and shoved all their stuff in their lockers. And ran to their seats with excitement to see what they had in store for us... we had some card bord to make Stone henge out of clay then we put it on the window sill to let them dry for painting. The next activity we had a huge peace of black paper and coloured the paper in with pastels it was really awesome and we got very messy with the pastels and then we went our side and sprayed our hand with brown paint...

Lots of galactic gladiators looked like invading invaders. It's the SAVAGE STONE AGE!!!!!!. In the morning we did a very interesting word search it was pretty hard. After that Mr Hunt came round with soft brown clay we made henge. Then we did the hand spray that looked a bit like blood when we sprayed our hand it was very cold, fun and artistic. After break we sketched animals and people they had NO EYES OR MOUTH but they looked astonishing we drew deer, Irish elk and Stone Age Neolithic people. We had some photos. Then we had a fantastic lunch. After lunch we did three sheets of our roundhouse design and technology. And then we coloured them in. Then we made some Stone Age people with clubs, they were a cone (you cut the person out and then get a ruler and scissors then open the scissors then slide the scissors across the ruler to fold it and glue it in a cone shape.) Then the STONE AGE DAY was over. We had so much fun on Stone Age day.

There was something different about the playground at Greenfields Primary School yesterday morning. It was like we went back in time 100,000 years but no! It was Stone Age day!!!Everyone looked and sounded not like them. They were in leopard print and zebra print clothing and clubs! I was desperate to find out the first activity of the day. The activity sounded so fun. Building a Stone Henge with clay of course! I was trying my hardest to think all break what we would do with a grey sheet of paper and still didn't know what to do, then Mr Hunt told us that we were doing cave painting of our hand with a different colour pastels and spray by putting our hand on a sheet and sprayed it purple.

There was something different about the playground at Greenfields Primary School yesterday morning? No one was in school uniform. Why? No one was in school uniform because it was not a normal school day. It was Stone Age Day for year 3 & 4! In the morning everyone dashed into the classroom to see each other's costumes then we had to sit down in our seats and the easiest wordsearch of my life it took me like a minute to complete and then we had to rip up some newspapers to cover our tables then we got some clay out and had to try and make a Stone Age Stone Henge (it was quite fun actually).Once we had made it we put them on the window still. Then we got a piece of black paper and had to get into a group of 3 and filled the paper with chalk then we went outside in our groups and put our hand on the big black piece of paper and got the horrible freezing cold paint. Washed our hands and then we got to go out to break - yay! Time to go back inside to classroom. The rest of the people had to do there hand spray paint. Then we had to sketch some cave painting of animals and people and after that we had to do it with colour and then it was finally lunch time for a whole hour.
