Questionnaire Results

Music Genre:

I asked people what their favourite genres of music were to help me decide on which one to pick for my magazine. Rock and R&B drew. Therefore I had to pick one I thought would appeal to the audience members more. I chose to pick Rock because when I looked over the questionnaire results some of them included many rock artists and the overall artist chosen was Coldplay therefore I felt Rock was the best genre to pick.

Colour Schemes:

The colour scheme chosen was red and black. I decided to use these types of colours on my front cover because they suited the most. For the inside of my magazine I went more with earthier colours and because beige, white & black and grey and blue accumulated quite high numbers I decided to incorporate some of those colours.

Magazine Contents:

Magazine top 10 was the most popular. A magazine top 10 is when the magazine will list 10 of their all time favourite songs or new songs that they feel the reader will enjoy. Interviews and New artists came second therefore I felt I would incorporate that too by making a double page spread of an interview with a new artist.

Price:

When looking at other magazines I realised most music magazines were priced quite highly and therefore I didn’t want to make the cheapest option too cheap because realistically thinking of the contents inside. Therefore the cheapest option I made was between £2.30 and £2.60 which was the most popular and I thought was quite reasonable.

Frequency:

The frequency is how frequent the magazine will be published. weekly and fortnightly reached the same results. I decided to make it fortnightly because the price is quite reasonable and music magazines are quite special compared to glossy weekly magazines.

Masthead Font:

NEORETRODRAW was the most popular and I decided to use this as my masthead font for my front cover. Evidently there were a few others that were quite popular and I decided to use some of them for my magazine when writing other areas of it. I decided to use IMPACT LABEL and Caviar dreams also.

Favourite Artist:

There were lots of other different artists in the questionnaire results but I chose to write the most popular. Coldplay was the most popular and they are rock artists therefore I decided to use this information to help me choose the genre of my magazine and instead used the magazine contents results to decide on new artists to be involved as contents instead of current artists.

Favourite Magazine:

This information helped me to realise which type of magazines people read and what type of styles for my magazine they would like to see. Clash was the most popular which is a magazine that involves many new artists and has a very alternative feel about it therefore working well with my genre of Rock.
