•Economise and maketise education is progressively developed and applied.

•INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY

•Reality is build up by jorunalist and advertisement. Different values and interests.

•Sell the idea of fantastic fake worlds of happiness and at the same time to be critical in these realities.

•Trainning in technologies is not enough. The government is not covering the needs of population.

Two sides of technology•“emancipation” (in terms of comsumption) and apocalypse•Fashion mantains economy •Question to content•Who will be the owner of knowledge? Content? ownership? Copy right?

•Students identity is a result of television and mass media. This implies new relationships.

•Social relationships are constructed through internet, what is the role of content there?•Ideas of communities, interrelationships. No barriers between people and institutions, no space

•Partnership between institutions. Eg. Games and movies and viceversa.

•Two important questions for teachers today. •How is the information superhighway beign constructed for us, and how are we being constructed within it and how is all of this beign mapped onto education?•How might education reconstruct itself in relation to this new techno-culture which is expected to dramatically change the landscape of our lives?

The role of education“A real commitment to change will be necessary, in professional roles, organizational structures, and social and cultural attitudes,,,Just introducing new communications technologies and servies is not enough”.

Help students to be critical in their choices with technology.Understand the social structures that our society is built up.

INTEGRATION OF SOCIAL AND TECHNICAL IDEAS IMPLIES…

1.Students and teachers working together. 2. Technology as a resource and context for teaching and learning3. Recognize tools and potentials of internet, learn how to use them

critically. Use of chat, use of blogs, use of emails, explore, research, network discussion groups, newsletters, journals, multimedia databases, virtual reality and so on.

4. Multilogue communities, multiplicity of voices.
