INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this presentation is to provide information about the city and the prefecture of Drama in general, and the 6th Secondary School of Drama in particular
In the following slides you will find information regarding some of the most well known places in Drama
You will also see many photographs of the places we are describing with the hope that they will help you to better imagine the place we are talking about
6TH SECONDARY SCHOOL OF DRAMA Founded in 1982 There are approximately 350 students and 40
teachers The school is built in the most beautiful area of
the city, on the edge of Korillovos hill, which is planted with pines, forming a suburban forest.

THE MURALS BEAUTIFY AND MEDALS IN LOCAL COMPETITIONS
Medals won from our school teams in basketball & football competitions
This statue was created during our art lessons. After it was completed we placed it at the foyer to beautify our school. We also painted the school corridors and walls.
PEDAGOGICAL PROGRAMS IN OUR SCHOOL
Despite the fact that this is the first time that our school participates in a Comenius collaboration, all teachers in our school have good experience of developing pedagogical projects such as eTwinning, environmental projects, health education programs, etc.
At the end of school year students and teachers compete in games!

Drama is a small city of about 50,000 citizens. It is also the capital of the prefecture of Drama
Drama is located in the northern part of Greece and in the north – east part of Macedonia region.

THE CITY OF DRAMADrama is a small city with a big natural beauty.
It’s a quiet place with a lot of beautiful signs and traditional small restaurants and hotels.
ST. BARBARA The water fountains of St.
Barbara are considered to
be the trademark of the
city of Drama
It is a magical area with
lakes, rivers and
waterfalls. This place is in
the heart of the
town,where the visitors
often walk through the
beautiful pathways, full of
green and admire a
wonderful view of an
amazingly natural scenery
NESTOS RIVER
Nestos is one of the five largest rivers in Greece . It is the natural border between Macedonia and Thraky . Its riverbed is 243 km and its sources are in the Rila
mountains in Bulgaria. The friends of nature and sports can enjoy the river by
walking next to it. It offers precious water on earth, plants, animals, and
humans
VIRGIN FOREST
The famous Virgin Forest is the crown jewel of the area of Drama
It is 5,892 acres and is the only virgin forest in Greece
The visitor can see many rare species like the brown bear, the wolf and various birds
One of the most unique presences here is the Capercaillie, a wild goose specie, who lives exclusively in the woods of the forest Frakto
KARANTERE The forest of Karantere
has a rich ecosystems filled with grasslands and green
The visitors of the forest of Karantere will enjoy a great variety of Flora with more than 700 different species, many of which are rare in the rest of Greece
There is also a wide variety of mushrooms
The area of Elatia (as it is also known), is part of the Western Rhodopes and is located in the north part of Drama
Overall, the extent of Elatia is 92,517 acres
MOUNTAIN FALAKRO
The Ski Centre of Mountain Falakro was opened for the first
time in 1980 in order to cover the basic needs of leisure and
sports facilities in the surrounding area during winter
It is one of the most popular ski centers in Greece
It has 21 natural ski slopes and the snow quality is excellent
MAARA CAVE
The cave has huge stalactites
It was discovered in 1978 and its uniqueness lies to the sources
of its river
The cave Aggitis (as it is also known) is the largest river cave in
the world (with a length of 21 km) and it is located in Prosotsani,
Drama
ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM The museum opened in 1999 The exhibitions of the Museum provide evidence of the cultural
history of Drama The visitors can admire the ancient tools, the jewelry and the
pottery displayed that go back to the Bronze Age.
ONEIROUPOLI Oneiroupoli (DreamCity) is
open to the public every December
It is St. Claus’ village and it has a lot of activities to do and games to play
Grownups that visit Oneiroupoli are mostly interested in the famous singers and music groups that come every year from all over Greece to sing and give a live performance
SHORT FILMS FESTIVAL The Short Film Festival of
Drama started in 1978 This is a festival where
you can watch quality movies
The people that organise this festival aim to promote and create a friendly atmosphere for the visitors
DRAMAICA The song festival “Dramaica Youth
Festival”, which takes place every year (in the early August) at the sources of Santa Barbara and take part local groups and other groups from all over the Greece .
