Young citizens of Europe-our Future. The path of knowing, growing and understanding

We just arrived from Poland and it was an awesome experience within the Erasmus+ project Young citizens of Europe-our Future. The path of knowing, growing and understanding - 2014-2016.

The future of Europe depends largely on the level of education of children and young people, who will enter the labor market in the near future. Therefore, the aim of our project is to improve the quality of education. We hope that by raising the level of basic competencies and skills students will learn effectively.

The common language for the project agreed upon by all schools is English.

The program was interesting and we learned a lot of things in a very welcoming atmosphere.

• SchoolThe first day we went to Stawna School, where we participated

to different lessons: Polish class, Biology class, Chemistry class, English class.

All of them were interesting, but we most liked Chemistry, where we learned a lot of things, like how to obtain a substance that looks like silver, how to change the colour of the flame, and Polish, where we learned some Polish words.

The others were very interesting and impressive, too: style of teaching, students attention in class, which makes Stawna School a very good one.

• Visited locationsAfter we settled in with the school and new friends , we visited

InfoBox and we liked its interactivity, after that Centrum Nauki Experyment, where we were amazed by the many games that develop curiosity and scientific imagination of children through fun.

Then we went to Gdynia Maritime Academy (Academia Morska). Here we learned many important things about ships, sailors’ life and their history.

In the last days we visited the city of Gdansk. On the way to the city, we stopped at the European Centre of Solidarity. Here we were impressed by the construction of the centre. It had an interesting design , and inside we watched several videos about the history of Poland . The Museum of Gdynia was also very interesting for us.

• Families

The Frymark, Tarasiuk and Fiutowska families were very welcoming, provided us all conditions and during the free time, we decided to go to Akwarium Gdynia, Bowling, Jump-City, Center Riviera .

We have visited the beach and Baltic Sea Harbour. We thank them to have taken care of us and we already miss them.

We keep in touch and we are glad that we met them.

It was a wonderful learning by action experience for us as pupils, discovering a new culture. We learned a lot of interesting things and made friends from seven countries (including me and my friends): Poland, Finland, Bulgaria, Croatia, Turkey and Italy. We are glad that more of our friends in secondary school will experience such amazing things and we can’t wait to see our new friends to come to our school in 2016.
